Best kind of low-maintenance flower?

We are looking for a low-maintenance flower to plant around a bird bath in our garden. Something that loves getting a lot of sun, as the area of the yard it will be planted in is almost constantly hit with sunlight. Not everyone in our family likes yard work or gardening, so we need something that is pretty resistant to weeds and that doesn't require too much TLC. Any tips? Thanks!
