How to break in PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis Controller Sticks?

I got a new controller a while back, but the two analog sticks still seem a little resistant. When I am playing a shooter game, aiming for people far in the back of a map is very difficult because I have to do slight adjustments which is VERY hard with these two analog sticks being resistant.. My other controller, which is broken, the analog sticks on it are very responsive. I can't remember how long it took for that one to break in, so can anyone tell me how long it will take for this new one to be very reliable again? Thanks for any answers.
