Looking for a good windows computer.?

I'm going to school next year for engineering. I was told it would be hard to find all of the programs on a Mac, but I really love Mac products. My range is about 2000 bucks and I'm looking for a laptop. I need a lot of memory, and I would like it to be a little more virus resistant than your average windows computer. I don't want anything silly like a touch screen. Anyone have any suggestions for really nice computers? I just don't know my way around anything besides apple products.
